MARCH 25 EDITION

3064 #0018

In this installment of the Three Peaks blog, we’re turning our focus to our American road trip, including iconic locations such as Indian Canyon, Salt Lake City, Joshua Tree, and Palm Springs.

The open road from Salt Lake Indian Canyon gave us the perfect opportunity to put our new Kit Bag 38L, Sling 4L, and the upgraded Travel / Adventure 42L Adventure Bag through their paces. With a Jeep Rubicon Wrangler as our companion, we navigated a landscape as diverse as the challenges it presented. Each stop became a natural proving ground, showcasing the adaptability and resilience of our designs. Here's what we discovered along the way.

SALT LAKE CITY TO INDIAN CANYON

LOCATIONS: Salt Lake City // Jackson // Joshua Tree // Palm Springs // Indian Canyons.

FEATURING: Travel / Adventure 42L // Kit Bag 38L // Crossbody Sling 4L

We embarked on this journey in early December, a time when winter begins to take hold across the American West. Our mission was to push our latest prototypes to their limits, ensuring they could handle the varying terrains and unpredictable conditions. December brings a dramatic contrast in the West—desert landscapes remain sunlit, while higher elevations are blanketed in snow. We encountered moments of sunshine interspersed with sudden snowstorms, making this a dynamic setting to test concepts and capture content for our newest backpacks in the pipeline.

Kit Bag 38L - Three Peaks GBR

Jackson

Wow Factor: 9/10

Heading north, we encountered the unexpected—blizzards and biting cold in both Jackson and Salt Lake City. These harsh winter conditions tested our bags in ways no studio could replicate. The snow-covered landscapes served as a stunning backdrop for our shots. The Travel / Adventure 42L Bag excelled here, its enhanced weatherproofing keeping contents dry and secure. Meanwhile, the compact Sling 4L proved invaluable for quick access to essentials without compromising on comfort or functionality. These bags aren’t just built to endure—they’re built to thrive in extreme environments.

Joshua Tree

Wow Factor: 8/10

The stark beauty of Joshua Tree National Park offered a completely different challenge. Towering rock piles and desert heat pushed our designs to adapt again. The Kit Bag 38L’s ventilated back panel ensured comfort during long hikes, while the Sling 4L offered streamlined convenience, keeping small essentials like cameras and water bottles close at hand. The otherworldly landscape highlighted the modern, minimal aesthetic of our designs, proving that performance and style can coexist.

Palm Springs

Wow Factor: 8/10

Palm Springs, with its blend of desert modernism and natural beauty, added a touch of sophistication to our shoot. The vibrant colours and polished look of the city contrasted sharply with the rugged stops before it. Here, the Nomad 42L V3 came into its own as an urban explorer, seamlessly transitioning from off-road expeditions to refined settings. Palm Springs was a reminder that true adventure gear doesn’t have to sacrifice style for substance.

Indian Canyon

Wow Factor: 7/10

The rugged terrain of Indian Canyon, with its dramatic rock formations and endless horizons, set the stage for our final photoshoot. The canyon’s arid expanse demanded durability and organization from our bags. The Kit Bag 38L stood out, comfortably carrying essential gear while blending seamlessly into the rugged surroundings. Its water-resistant finish and reinforced straps handled the dusty, dry conditions with ease, proving its reliability as a mid-size adventure companion.
